You can finally own Sugar Cane's famed 50/50 cotton/sugar cane denim in a slim tapered fit!

We've always loved Sugar Cane's Okinawa fabric and over the years we've really wanted a slim tapered version of it. Together with Sugar Cane we've done a limited run of slim tapered jeans using a special 12oz summer-weight 50/50 cotton/sugar cane fiber denim. Perfect if you want something lighter in weight and breathable for the summer while still having a denim that is not only very unique but will also age with a beautiful patina.

These are limited to 90 pairs and only available at Self Edge Mexico or you can order a pair (with free shipping) by emailing us.

3sixteen x Schott Black Leather Perfecto Jacket

3sixteen's first collaboration with Schott NYC comes in the form of a black leather Perfecto jacket. This jacket is built from their 519 fit, a modernized version of the original Perfecto from 1928.

The leather is a beautiful naked cowhide with no topcoats to allow the natural feel and look of the leather to shine.

Limited to 100 jackets and available now at all Self Edge stores and via our online store.

Introducing Studio D'Artisan - The First Of The "Osaka 5"

One of the lines we fell in love with in the 90’s when we first discovered Japanese denim was Studio D’Artisan. Known as the first of the “Osaka 5” companies to have started the Japanese denim industry which we know today. Studio D’Artisan were the first ones to use deadstock hardware on their jeans and the first ones to create shuttle loom woven hank dyed jeans in Japan. They’ve maintained a playful image over the years, which is one of our favorite things about the brand. After nearly 40 years they still find humor in every element of what they do.

We hope to grow with this legendary Japanese company and bring you a wide range of what they produce; from jeans to belts to shirts to sweaters, it’s all done very well. We’ll be getting new deliveries every two months throughout the rest of the year to round out the selection of what Studio D’Artisan offers and have some very special releases planned for later this year.

I picked up the Studio D'Artisan SD107 while on vacation in NY a couple weeks ago. Austin was very helpful and knowleble! Fantastic denim! With a lot of makers trying to make the slubbiest of slub (which I already have and like), it's great to have something different. Extremely hairy with such great features!

John Lofgren "Short Shift" Engineer Boot in Badalassi Leather

Nobody does engineer boots like John Lofgren, so it was only natural that when we looked at making a modified engineer he was the perfect guy. This is a "short shift" version of an engineer boot, so the shaft has been made shorter for both comfort and to make it easier to wear with a wider range of jean fits. This version also has a slightly less stacked sole/heel, so the boot is slightly lighter in weight and has a shorter break-in period.

We went all out with the leather for this one and had Lofgren source Badalassi's black leather, with a great feel and grain this leather is going to look unbelievable after it has been broken in.

These are available now in limited numbers in-store and in our online store.

How does the sizing run on these?

These run true to size and extremely close to Brannock sizing.
We sell quite a lot of these online and we rarely get exchanges for another size, which tells me the sizing is quite predictable across the models.

Sugar Cane Raw Unsanforized Type II Jacket - Modified Length & Larger Sizes

We've always loved Sugar Cane's version of the classic 1950's style Type II denim jacket. They've gotten the denim feel right, the stitching is perfect, the iron buttons are classicly reproduced, and deer skin patch ages just as well as the denim itself. Normally this jacket is available only in a one-wash version. If you want an unsanforized denim jacket to age well over time we recommend buying a raw non-wash version. The industrial washing and drying softens the denim to the point where aging over time will be less defined (this is even more true on a denim jacket where wear is harder to come by), therefore we recommend doing the water soak of the jacket at home. Sugar Cane has made a batch of these jackets exclusively for Self Edge in a non-wash raw version which is 1.5" longer in the body length so it can be worn with an un-tucked shirt. Also for the first time ever these are made in larger sizes.

Along with the Type II jacket we've received a full restock of all Sugar Cane jean models, cowhide leather belts, and Whitesville tees (tees are in-store only).

I ordered the black type II a bit ago and love it (or I will once it cools off a bit). Any plans to carry a type I, preferably without a buckle back?

Next year we plan to tackle the Type I in terms of bringing a couple of faithful reproductions of it to our stores with good denim that's unsanforized with the only real major change of taking the buckle-back off.

Wow! Great job on bringing a slightly longer, unsanforized, unwashed type ii to the people, Kiya! Looks incredible from the photos. Can't wait to see how this thing ages, but I guess I'll have to :)

Placed my order last night minutes after seeing this. Got a shipping notice like 20 minutes later on a Friday night nonetheless, with tracking number and everything. Incredible service, as always.

I'm hoping that it manages to get into the mail system and up to me in Canada before our useless (yet essential, Arghhhh) postal service goes on strike July 2...

Anyhow, great stuff here guys. Plus, what's with the amazing deal on the price here? When I bought my iron heart type iii, it was like ~$500. Great jacket too, but this SC At $240 or whatever, is a steal. You could have easily made a bigger profit, but that just goes to your character and why I love supporting Self Edge.

Don't stop the rockin'!

Awesome news! I've always wanted a sherpa lined type 1, preferably cord - very specific, but figured I'd throw it out there!

Iron Heart 14oz Denim Jeans & Summer Collection of Shirts

After many years of producing super heavy weight jeans Iron Heart has developed a new denim which we consider to be "summer weight", or at least summer weight compared to Iron Heart's past releases. This new 14oz denim was developed from the ground up and has been made in the 301 slim tapered fit. We have the 633 fit coming in the same denim in two weeks. This new 14oz denim is sanforized so there is no need for soaking.

We've also received a good number of new shirts from Iron Heart, available in both workshirt and snap buttoned versions. We have some real stunners here like their 9oz organic cotton charcoal herringbone shirts.

All these items are available now at all five Self Edge stores and in our online store.
