I stopped by Gucci store today for the first time. If only Kering used the fabrics and materials and resources in Hedi's SL.. the DIY and bespoke sections of Gucci are unreal. A lot of the garments are so nice, its just a shame that everything has such obnoxious branding.

Yes it's always treat visiting the 5th Ave flagship or one of the 1,000 Gucci stores in HK. Our lone Gucci store here doesn't even have a menswear department.

IMO they are good, but I found them to fit a bit more snug in the waist than their 2013 counterparts - depending on your frame, you might want to consider that.  In general, SS14 cuts are still quite skinny and then the cut tends to change in the fall, from what I've experienced.  Still skinny but looser in the thigh/knee area, but, again, depends on your body type a bit as well.

On a similar note, for those of us that love/wear the D10 - I have several pairs from FW15 and was wondering if the SS16 D10 reissues are exactly the same cut?  Thinking about picking up another pair but if the SS16 cut is not as nice I'll hold out and search for a FW15 pair instead.

Ss16 is the same cut..I would say. They have different production numbers though. I think the rise on aw15 is 9.5 and the ss16 is 9.75
Aw15 d10 is elastane 2%, ss16 is polyurethane 2%

i saw the 'classic' biker they got, i handled it fair to say it can rival the SLP one

I went to get a silk SLP shirt tailored today, but was warned it may be risky considering the material is silk and the altering would be rather significant; it would involve a little hemming, but mostly taking the sides/back in by a fair degree.

I really love the shirt and so would like to get it tailored, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk; considering I have a friend who's very interested in purchasing the shirt as it is.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

altering it will kill most if its re-sell value, your call.

Cool, thanks for that info, appreciate it.

Good point

I am more concerned by the potential damage it will cause, as if I do get it altered, I can't envisage me ever wanting to sell it considering how much I like it. The only reason I'm considering selling it right now is because of the fit isn't right

where did you get the shearling from I haven't seen it since gilt

Do you recall what the asking price was on Gilt? Last I saw this was on Mr. Porter, initially for an eye gouging price however, the last remaining piece sold during the sales for 2000 something.

Do You Consider Sustainability When Purchasing Clothes?

  • Always - Sustainability is a top priority in all my clothing purchases.

  • Often - I frequently consider sustainability, but it isn't the main factor in my decisions.

  • Rarely - I seldom consider sustainability when purchasing clothes.
