I'm more interested in it now knowing its a substantial material--the pictures have always had the appearance of a lightweight jacket.

Any comments on the strap when you don't fasten it?
It just hangs there on the side. When the strap just hangs there unfastened, it hangs down a few inches past the bottom of the coat. For myself, I feel like I'd get into the habit of constantly playing with it if was undone because its perfectly placed right next to your hand. The jacket does look better with it fastened IMO. Also, the d-rings that the strap fastens through, if undone, are just barely visible if you button the snaps.

The flecks in the charcoal richard stuff look really good, especially on the coat they just put up.
I'm inches away from kopping the cadet pants.

I'm inches away from picking up the Richard Pants, if only I could sell more stuffs to have mo' spending cash :(
