so which model is the most "dressy" one

classic craftsman, don’t get the comfort craftsman, it’rubber insole doesn’t breath and makes your feet hot and sweaty.

if you want a pair with rubber outsole, can go MTO for a pair of Blaxlands, leather insoles with rubber outsole.

The Signature Craftsman is by far the dressiest, it's the Craftsman but with veal calf leather instead of yearling and better construction.

Yes on the calf leather, the last is also slighly slimmer. But there are other options for the price RM wants to charge for them now days.

There is no real difference in construction, just finished better.

Nordstrom offering 25% RMW boots.

I started buying standard Craftsman models back in 2008. I just picked up a comfort Turnout in Rum. I actually prefer the round toe now that I have a pair. Nordstrom has a handful of suede comfort Turnout models that look great.

Have you noticed any quality changes?

On the surface, not really. Granted my new pairs are all less than 2 years old so I don't know how they will fair long term but they look and feel just as nice as the earlier models to me.

I've been wearing RMs since 2010 and I completely agree, I replaced all my pairs in 2019 with new comfort models and they are at least as good now as my first pair. Anecdotally, I think the "RMs have been ruined" crowd are making an issue out of nothing, I see the occasional quality control issue post and everyone is declaring the company is crap now... pretty much all companies making any kind of volume make mistakes from time to time.

Totally agree. These are not bespoke shoes. Happy with all of mine.

I just ordered a pair of the Cola Suede Comfort Turnouts, it is my second pair of Turnouts, I am starting to prefer the round toe of the Turnouts to the chisel toed Craftsman. I have worn RMW since ‘09, 7 pair total, I haven’t noticed a change in quality.
