I had a pair of Bass Blucher Mocs a long time ago, and have been looking for a replacement but keep running into problems. The most recent indignity is RL creating the perfect copy, but they put a terrible logo on the heel... my options are attached below, if anyone knows of another company making something like what I am looking for please let me know... any opinions appreciated!

My guidelines

1. Made in USA
2. Color should be dark olive/tan (the RL is a perfect color, the LLBean next)
3. prefer non-leather laces, but could obviously change them easily

RL

I would buy immediately, they are exactly what I am looking for
1. made in usa
2. right color
3. laces are not leather - I would take the twisted knots out

But, they have a terrible embossed "Ralph Lauren" on the heel, this pretty much kills the deal for me (ignore the red color, i am looking for dark olive)

Quoddy

So, there is this from Quoddy
1. made in usa

But, none of the color choices are what I am looking for (far left is the closest?)

LL Bean

everything good: Color, laces, etc., but not made in usa

Yuketen, but the color is off and I don't want the crepe sole

not gonna lie, olive is kinda hideous... and whats the big deal with that logo no one will see it unless they stare down at the back of your feet while you walk

saw those quoddy's on h(y)r today - looks like something i could get myself into. the navy with brick sole looks great. i wonder how quick the turnaround time would be on quoddy's end if one were to order them directly through their new webstore setup. now that they have made ordering so easy, i would hope that they have the means to get product out in a reasonable time frame.

Does anyone on here own (or ever try on) a pair of the RL Tahomas? If so, how do they run in terms of size?

Go for the LL Bean. They're everything you're looking for in terms of aesthetics and the quality is fine so it doesn't really matter that they aren't made in the USA. Also, you'll save quite a bit of money.

If you have the money, definitely do not get the llbean. And I'm saying this as someone who has kicked around the llbean bluchers for over a year now. Quoddy and Yuketen are on a completely different level than LL Bean.

I can't yet speak for the Quoddy (I have a pair on the way) but the LL Bean are terrible, IMO. The pair I got had plastic that looked like plastic (and not even nice plastic). They were really awful and I tossed them. Cheap but not worth the money I spent.
