I left my wallet sitting on a table during a night of heavy drinking and I awoke the next morning to find it lying in a puddle of champagne. The booze left a lovely stain on one side of the wallet's exterior.
Before I send it to a specialist, are there any steps I can take to restore the leather myself? I've been told to vigorously rub the affected area and this has helped to some extent, but not to the level desired.
Thoughts?
