Whether it's the seller's "fault" or not, it's still his responsibility to ensure delivery. Totally reasonable to open a case. The sell could have either properly insured himself or decided that he didn't wish to take the risk of shipping the item to make the sale.

This.

I sold a ******* lovely Schneider blazer a few months ago and shipped it out without tracking but I did get insurance.

The guy claimed he never received it, post office was unable to track, and then refused to pay the insurance because I'd missed signing a box.

I refunded the money even though I suspected the guy might not be telling the truth. Basically had no way of proving it and I didn't want to take the risk that if he truly hadn't received the item he'd lost some money. That was a big hit to take but that's just the way it is.

In the end shipping is the seller's responsibility unless you specifically request that he ships without insurance to save yourself on shipping fees.

Best Halloween costumes I saw over the past few days:
- guy dressed as old timey sailor with pipe. wife was a mermaid, little kid was a seamonster. very zissou-esque.
- some kid dressed as a port-a-potty. all handmade, btw. no off-the-shelf costume.
- some dude as karl lagerfeld at a party last weekend. that was fantastic.
unrelated, but equally awesome, I saw R. Kelly perform last night. holy crap that was good. he was in all white leather biker jacket and jeans.

I saw a toddler dressed in what looked to be the Lion from 'where the wild things are' was really cool in motion. Dat flow (0)

I refuse to ship international without tracking unless the buyer pays as gift and I make it explicitly clear that it will be on them if it doesn't show up. I'd rather lose the sale because shipping is too high than lose the item/money.

Also, make that sweater bigger :(

if I could make both the knits bigger I wouldn't be selling them.

I would've demanded tracking and I always have since then. Twas silly of me, lesson learned.

Honestly I'm more pissed about the jacket being lost, it was so nice and would've been great on someone skinny enough to fit schneider in the shoulders.

Wonder why WWM does not get more love, seems it would appeal to the EG/RRL fans

It did when Daiki designed it, when the overlap with EG was considerable. The McNairy collections usually have a couple of pieces I like, but then one or two that are so bad it sorta turns me off to the whole season.

Doesn't help that stuff is expensive; that parka was $1500 IIRC

i love daiki era wwm. i've tried on some of their blazer style coats and liked them. this isn't surprising as daiki era wwm is pretty much exactly the same as EG design wise (and fabric? I know daiki sources woolrich wools for eg regularly), although I'm not sure where it's made.

It's entirely possible that they'll sneak in some hideous branding on their clothing (see below), but I'm pretty impressed with this after seeing a pretty lame rocker-chic spring collection. Just a bit frustrated that their webshop doesn't display any of this new stuff, nor do they seem to have any of their fragrance in stock.

Might have been mentioned by someone else, but Siki Im is up at Suspension Point. Wish there were a few more pieces to choose from, but oddly tempted by the Burgundy jacket, though I have no idea what I'd wear it with...

I think they'll get another shipment, right? Either way, the cashmere trousers are insane., would love to **** with those.

I'm not sure, I thought I remembered that previous email alerts from SP about other brands would say if they were getting multiple shipments, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. Prices seem very reasonable though
