I have a pair of these and really like them. They're $120 so IDK if they count as cheap-ish or not. They've got another cut with a crotch gusset that looks interesting too but they're 170.

Describe what you mean by techwear and real pockets - I have yet to find a short that you describe that DOES have real pockets. But trye Nike and uniqlo - I have a pair of short-inseam cargo shorts I got there last year.

Describe what you mean by techwear and real pockets - I have yet to find a short that you describe that DOES have real pockets. But trye Nike and uniqlo - I have a pair of short-inseam cargo shorts I got there last year.

elastic waist, nylon-ish fabric, side seam pockets and maybe a back zip pocket that aren't in-waistband pockets. no ******* inbuilt liner.
