You don't get to $10M sales by making 5% margin.

Honestly, when I think of SLP the forum I think of is KTT--I think of more Schneider and Geller when I think of the general "styleforum look" (although I know it's not all of it)

You can do 10M sales and not make any money at all. I'm in production, so for us the only driver is to produce more. The only thing that matters is the bottom line.

I think many retailers aren't flexible enough in their pricing strategies. Typically the only reason people are in business is to make money. If someone asks for free shipping on an order that they otherwise wouldn't pay I'd say go for it.

And I'd rather sell that same item to any of the other reasonable customers who do not believe that they are entitled to whatever they feel they should get. Life is too short to chase the business of the worst possible customer, when there's plenty pleasant and fair customers out there.

Wouldn't we all, in a perfect world.

It is not a perfect world. It is the way things go. There is never just one buyer for an item. There is no reason to "make the sale" under abusive conditions, as there will be another person to buy it, under fair conditions.

fair conditions dictate that you do exactly that i, the most valuable and esteemed customer, asks for! that is what AMERICA was founded on! catering to MY needs as a PAYING customer!

Nah. Check out waywt. Geller/Schneider aren't a dominant look. The Schneider hype has subsided a bit too. There are periods of SF uniform but people tend to stick to what's familiar, it's like a bunch of people hanging out at a big party but largely keeping to the crew they arrived with
