I am far from sure you would've gotten them on release day. These kind of releases usually sell out instantly and are heavily botted by professional resellers and such.

Enjoy your pair. I have the same and they are all awesome.
Oh yeah for sure, just meant I could have paid less, probably still would have struck out on release day.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to them coming in

Keep in mind though that the '85 cut is a bit different in shape and materials compared to a regular J1 OG high. The leather cuts are thicker and less soft than on the regular versions, since the shoe is supposed to replicate performance leather used in actual sport shoes from 1985. As a result, they might take some more time to break in but ymmv.

BTW I’ve mentioned it before but I really hate this artificial scarcity thing by Nike and others. Scalpers/resellers are the only ones that benefit from it. If I like some shoes, I couldn’t care less if I’m the only one in town wearing them or of I’ll bump into 5 people wearing the same thing the moment I step outside (my latest sneaker purchase are some white AF1…). Just let me order/buy in person without playing this game or paying over retail (won’t do that).

Thats why more and more people are just saying screw it and buy reps.

The Rappha cycling kit discussion sort of reminds me of Tracksmith for runners. Great quality stuff but a bit pricey and definitely more style-conscious than the cheap-o Amazon Basics gear I usually go with for running shirts (I will say that Tracksmith's merino wool winter gear is pretty awesome though).

There's is a guy who runs through my neighborhood most mornings ALWAYS wearing the very distinctive Tracksmith striped "Van Cortlandt" singlet and a pair of retro looking Tracksmith shorts. I can never really tell what shoes he's wearing, but I have to imagine their either Hoka or On since those seem to have a similar bloggy-hype around them.

Recently, they've collaborated with J. Crew and I thought I also saw them at Rowing Blazers (or somewhere similar).

J. Crew looking not bad once more. I thought last F/W was maybe a one-off.

And yes, it's basic.

...but I once ended up accidentally advertising a Swiss 'gentleman's club' on my arse...
Late, but just wanted to say that for the right price, I could be persuaded to create Styleforum after dark, featuring um... I guess @Jr Mouse

You know I also run and I was looking at track Smith because it seemed nice but I just need something functional and has a mesh. I don't really want to deal with high costs since I'm legit just using random thrift store shorts at the moment. Unless it elevates my game, I just don't care.

Rapha does have a really nice repair policy and stuff as compared to other brands though.

I am not sure the Tracksmith mesh is that functional anyway. It looks nice and is super well built, but I sweat more in their mesh than I do in a standard poly running top.
