Even (very) casual trousers look so much better with a proper width.

As well as jeans.

Love this silhouette. Always have. During the very early 2000s, before low rise and skinny everything, we had this in say, the original APC Anglaise cut. The earliest Rag and Bone jeans and Cloak 2003 (still have those pants likewise had this wide legged, slouchy but not flowy) look. Of course, paired with chunkier sneakers, it has lot of nods to skater culture, which was also prevalent then (tons of Stussy and brands like it in the old American Rag CIE in LA) So glad that we are back here.

Oh gawd. Not sure what to make of that!
Nothing - Shein makes cheap copies of everything. It doesn't mean that it looks bad in a picture, nor good. It has no identity of its own other than "cheap".

I realize this… however, I like my jeans to be built like tanks! Readily admit styling/fit looks proper to my eye in the photo tho.

I size up on things like ironheart straight legs. Not gonna lie, I am 100% into these Rick Owens joints from Self Edge:

Something to keep in mind is that lots of straight leg trousers with a wide enough leg opening end up looking like flares when you're walking anyway, just how science works, adding actual flares on top can sometimes be too much. I often wear perfectly straight cotton ducks trousers with a 26cm hem, I look like an old school off-duty sailor standing still and like a 70s bum in motion.
Exactly this. I have a pair of trousers that are 11” at the thigh and straight from knee to hem at 9.75” but they look flared.
