Cut that toe out. That would solve the problem. 😄

I have that problem on a couple of my boots and it does bug me.

The worst is on a chelsea boot on the 81 last. Weirdly enough, I have a pair of chukka boots on the same last and size, but don't have that problem.
Yes life would be easier without pinky toe :D

I found that Trickers 4497 fits best for my toebox and pinky toe. Last is very similar to 335 but roomier in toe box

Hmm. I need a "wear with almost everything" pair of black boots. Could it be the Coniston in black scotch grain? Or does that come across too military or formal on the foot? Haven't seen a pair in person yet.

I wear my black, scotch grain Connies with jeans and chinos all the time. I think they work perfectly in those combos. I don't think the Coniston looks truly formal in any context.

I'm not sure I've seen that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Here's Tricker's Stow in dark brown suede:

Agreed. It looks fantastic. Thanks!
Can imagine that combination would work. I would be interested to see it in a lighter brown suede too, such as a snuff.
One MTO concern is that I prefer Vibram Londra over the Ridgeway sole. So if I want the boots truly to spec it would cost another $200 or so for that aftermarket upgrade. Has anyone asked them lately if they will be adding Londra to the MTO options? No urgent “need” for these boots, so I’m hoping that they start this in the next year or so before I MTO.

On an unrelated note, I would like to mention how much I appreciate the consistent quality of Crockett & Jones. Even with the recent price increase I would prefer that to a constant price but cutting corners instead.

I couldn’t agree more about Crockett & Jones quality control I’ve made 7 MTO over the course of the last two years without a single issue. I’ve got an eighth order hopefully that I’ll get before the factory breaks for holiday. Every order has been perfect. The shoes are impeccable. The size of the box, the quality of the dust bags. It’s an amazing out of box experience. I don’t own anything from Edward Green or John Lobb, but I can say without question that C&J QC is better than Alden. I realize boots are in style right now, but I’ve always felt that the strength of the product line is their loafers. It’s my favorite brand!!!! Funny story. I bought my first pair back in 08 during the financial crisis when the dollar got really strong against the pound. I ordered from a site called Pediwear.com which is gone now. With the exchange rate, I believe I paid about $320. That seemed like so much money at the time. It was the best pair of shoes that I had ever purchased and I still have them and they look fantastic - they were a pair of TSG Pembrokes.

Pediwear is in the process of returning. They have some Trickers store makeups available now. Don’t know if they’re going to carry C&J.
