Hi,
I am going to make special order for coninston with 365 last and need advice for what leather should I take. I like brown shades. As far I know there is no CJ’s leathers catalog online for options so I will appreciate your advice. Maybe someone will know leather that will look good but they are not in current offer.
Maybe some leather similar to this:

For reference I will add photo of my top 3 jeans which I want wear with these boots. I like some kind of mid-brown colors with without glossy look for casual look. Some texture is fine, but I don't have preference in that. Can you recommend me something please?

So I'll be visiting the flagship store in December during vacation to have a proper fitting done. I'll be looking at what they have in stock but potentially also considering going the MTO route if I'm excited by the fitment but not excited about current options.

Current reason for posting: what are some black boots that C&J has made that are "standouts" or "must-haves"? Be it previously offered, currently offered, or MTOs. Not looking for something super formal in nature. My current go-to black boots are black shell NST's from Alden but I'm just not as enamored with them as I'd like to be. I'm downsizing my collection to things that are either "special" or "go-to" pairs.

the Chuckkas look good. Is the "wax calf" to be maintained with normal shoe cream and wax, or how do you do it? Does it shine like smooth calf leather?
I´m not very picky on shoe-shininig, donˋt like mirror gloss.
I take black kiwi parade gloss, it combines cream and wax.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
