Yes, it is the Charlton on the 3373 last in black with a brown suede. This boot is, or was, part of the Parisian Collection of "Upper Shoes". the last fits my foot perfectly in UK 7.5 / US 8.5 / EU 41.5. Upper Shoes has always a special Parisian Collection only for them, in particular 3 C&J Cordovan models. I guess I should share the photos.

Best regards

I just saw these. They look beautiful and I like the look of the last and lower vamp too.

I like the idea of these. Personally I prefer full strap loafers on a sleeker last, though, like Alden’s on the Aberdeen last. But this loafer in Whiskey shell and a short strap - not sure I could resist that. Maybe something for the MTO thread?

On leather soles? I’d probably join in.

Hello everybody,

has anyone actually used their MTO service in one of their stores? In Paris they did not give me that many information. Calling the falgship store in London today I found out that also the last of a model can be changed, besides the sole, upper leather and even a half (80 Pound) and full (160 pound) patina is possible.

I am asking as I am interested in the Albany 4 as Adelaide oxford in medium brown, but on the more narrow 373 last instead of the, at least for my foot, relativly volumenous 367 last.

Enjoy your day and best regards

Pascal

Hello Folks

Am pitching a GMTO that revives what is the 'Peebles' model. This model was coincidentally spotted in a recent post and identified as being a discontinued model.

The GMTO would be for a 'Peebles' in natural/sand hurricane hide with exposed eyelets and stormwelt, on ridgeway in Last 335. This make-up was done some 6 years ago for the Japanese market in pebble grain versions and in russian grain version. Please view these links to see how the make-up looks on ridgeway soles.

I wanted to go with the olive pebble grain leather as used in the Japan edition above, but this leather is not available anymore and cannot be furnished by C&J for a GMTO, as confirmed.

So am proposing hurricane hide which has newly featured in the C&J line-up. Its an amazing leather, will look fabulous and will age beautifully. The colourway being proposed for the hurricane hide is what Division Road call 'natural' in the pembroke model and what C&J call 'sand' in the coniston model.

The price for a GMTO has been confirmed at £580 with 6 participants OR £550 with 10 participants.

Your responses are invited to gauge if such a GMTO will have any traction.

Thanks all,

I’ve used the main store on Jermyn street several times and with great success. You can have any model on any last and if it’s never been made before you pay a pattern fee which I can’t recall the amount but it’s not a lot of money. Email and ask for Alex, she’s lovely.

Hello crafty Cumbrian,

on the telephone the costs for the Albany 4 on the 373 last would be 1040 Pounds. A lot of money. The fees for the half or full patina are added to this. That is then almost the costs of a Gaciano & Girling shoe, if it fits. Anyway, next longer weekend is a hoop on the train to London.

Best regards
