www.vivre.com had some relatively recently. deep discount if i remember. i would take a look.

I actually liked his clothes a lot. they seemed to have been met with lukewarm reviews here and lukewarm sales at Saks and I am not sure why. The suits has some fusing but were generally well-made (especially for the price) in the Neapolitan fashion.

Anyways I heard David Chu was rolled into DC Lincs (a lower end casual line) so I doubt they are still making 4-fold ties and neapolitan suits. but who knows, the David Chu Custom townhouse (in Chelsea, NYC?) may still be operational.

I'd love to order a 7-fold Sam Hober tie cut shorter to accomodate my sort of short body. Unfortunately, the recession has make it easy to find ties that were once $140 for $50-60 and it makes it harder to justify spending the money for a 7-fold.

Too bad the name of the store isn't Tie-land in Thailand.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have somewhat of the same question. I'd like to spend no more than $50 for a 3.25-inch wide tie. I know that excludes most of the top end and custom makers. I've been hunting through thrift stores and eBay, but I'd like a decent-thickness tie that knots well, and vintage usually doesn't fit that bill. Could anybody point me to a label that makes ties in this range?
