Seiko SARG009 today. I haven’t worn this one in a very long time but got it out yesterday evening, set it, and put it on the winder overnight. It seemed to be running a bit fast though (by about 2 or 3 minutes).

I’ll have to give it a couple days worth of wear and see if it settles down at all.

Not bad-looking, but 2/3 minutes inaccuracy is disconcerting.

Same thing happened to my Shogun - went from fairly accurate to off by 2-3 minutes per day in the blink of an eye (after about 7 years of ownership). I'm pretty sure the Seiko service center simply put a new movement in, which has been running great.

Watch seems to have settled down and was off by just a few seconds this morning. It's entirely possible I just set it to the wrong time originally the other evening and didn't notice it.

You have very eclectic tastes which is nice to see but how small is your wrist? Isn’t that a 38mm watch?
40 mm. My wrist is only 7.25 inches, so a fixed bezel 40 mm watch is going to look pretty big on me in pictures like this.

Got a great deal on this Sinn 104, absolutely love it been after one for a couple of years to add to my very humble collection of "poor man's watches".

I very nearly bought a Seiko SPB143 (which I think is another very strong contender for this category) and will keep looking for a good deal.

I know someone who posts in this thread has one or more Synchrony watches. @New Shoes1 or @Michigan Planner maybe? Anyway, I received an email from them with a new release. I think they make cool watches, just don't have much room or need for one with a Seamaster and old SKX007 in my collection.

I have the Synchron Army, which is the exact same case as this version. Nice watch, but man is the case thick. I've toyed with the idea of selling it and buying a Doxa Army (thinner case), but then I realize that is the height of stupidity in this hobby.

I really like this new release but I’ve already got the cream colored dial Poseidon Synchron put out earlier this year… and the PVD version from last year or the year before… that I’m trying to sell if anybody is interested 😉

I’ve also got a couple Aquastar watches (I think that’s the same company as Synchron now) that I really like, especially the Aquastar 60.

Synchron, Aquastar, tropic straps and Isofrane are all Rick Marei (formerly of Doxa). And, I'll echo that I really like my Aquastar Deepstar II.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
