I'm going to be in Pittsburgh for a long weekend sometime in April/May. Fallingwater and the Warhol museum are on the agenda, but I'm looking for recommendations for other things to do and see.

Also would welcome recommendations for where to stay, where to eat and - this is SF after all - where to shop? Tend to prefer contemporary over traditional, luxury/quality over economy.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Hotel - the Renaissance or the Fairmont (if it is open yet, scheduled to open 3/29 and should be Pittsburgh's nicest hotel)

If you are willing to stay a night in the country near Failingwater, there is a great luxury resort, Nemacolin with four star restuarant Lautrec:

http://www.nemacolin.com/

Dining:

Alla Famiglia - expensive northern italian, massive portions - strange neighborhood so may want to hire a car unless you know your way around

Eleven - contemporary and nice environment

Toast - moderately innovative and fun upscale bar environment

Tamari - asian/latin fusion - well executed with nice bar as well

Clothing

Nettleton Shop - alden and allen edmonds and assorted mid to high end brands
Charles Spiegel - contemporary men's with jeans and diesel mixed in. Cuccinelli, Etro, Varvatos, etc.
Larrimor's - upscale men's
Joseph Orlando - mid to high end businessy men's clothing
Saks - y'know

Junk Food
Fatheads for funky sandwiches and wings
The Original for hot dogs and my favorite french fries in the world
The Strip District - area of ethnic grocers, street food and higher end specialty stores, great for walking and grazing
