It’s a trade show, so if you can show the organization you are in the business (as store owner, brand owner, buyer, etc.) you just buy a ticket. They will also allow ‘influencers’ plus someone taking pictures for them. So if you’re active on social media you can also apply for a ticket for you and your photographer. Then there’s of course (photo) journalists that are welcome to apply for a ticket, and perhaps some other categories I’m not aware of.
As a blogger I get press access for free. I'm allowed a +1, which Gus was this go. To prove I'm legit I have to send my coverage of the show on my site, so I send them this link to my blog.

You press guys even get a free lunch right?
As a mere mortal I have to pay my own ticket at the hefty sum of €25 on pre-sale, or €35 at the door. That’s a ticket for the whole week, so still not complaining too much (that free lunch though) ☝🏻😉😄

yep, the lunch is outrageous and includes wine and gelato. also a lounge with faster wi-fi, and a barista making coffee for us all day.

I thought the lunch that was for sale inside the exhibit hall was rather good, plus they have a bar, wine, gelato, toasted paninis, wonderful salads. Significantly better than the typical US trade show food. Many, in the know, walk a short distance from the show to have a proper sit down Italian lunch (how civilized!) while quite a few exhibitors booths had espresso machines and baristas as well as the occasional glass of Prosecco and some finger food. Delightful Italian hospitality!

Ears were burning? Lol.

FWIW, I don't understand the vitriol.

Sure - this is a forum, and people can state opinions on clothing.

But this thread and others take a nasty turn and have a way of getting personal.

In a world full of men who could not care less about clothing, we should all be incredibly grateful for an event like Pitti. You don't have to love every outfit worn by every attendee (and I don't), but the very existence of Pitti is important for those who care at all about mens' attire.

For those who look to push the boundaries, more power to them. I might state that I don't love the style they chose, but I won't call them names over it.

Couldn't have said it better.

I have no desire in being a style influencer, but I'm always down for drinks, dinner, and a good time! Where else can one go full on menswear without getting puzzled looks from normal civilians?

You could just hang out at Caffè Gilli during Pitti I suppose, or try to hook up with The Sartorial Club.
