@Despos are you looking for inspiration on how to wear your bolt of cloth?

Luka doesn't dress well and needs help; see more fits like Dermot O'leary.

Beigey/cream trews are so money...if not all that practical for all but the neatest folks lol.

Lordy, what did actually prompt the purp?
Good question, at the time I wanted a fun outfit for social events and was not impressed with a standard blue blazer or brown tweed. It took me a while to find the shade and texture I would be okay with wearing.

Check out the Brisbane Moss Kipling (Cotton Denim) in cream (ecru) and the tan calvary twill from Harrisons.

I want to have some suits and topcoats made abroad and have them unlined. My plan is to bring them back to the US and add in lining (I've heard bemberg is the best) locally. Is that possible? I want them to be full canvas and to be able to see the canvas to make sure it's full canvas.

Full canvas is one thing, but as @Despos said like 50 pages ago, full canvas doesn't mean it's good quality. There is a lot more going into the construction of a suit/coat then meets the eye.
And putting a lining in afterwards is just asking for problems, and yes bemberg/cupro/rayon is the type of stuff used for linings, but there is a vast quality difference between all types of cupro. Just like with shirtings. So you are better off going with a reputable tailor, pay a little more and just let him/her make it in full.

Ochre corduroy. Pink or light blue for something showy.

If its a reputable tailor sure that could work… But why would you need to buy them canvas? They should have all the trimmings and the like.. if you’re asking them to create it full canvas when they don’t already do that it sounds like it will be a disaster.

Are you purposely asking them to not add the lining so you can make sure that the jacket is fully canvassed? As in the jacket will be unfinished? As an unlined jacket is a lot different to an unfinished one..

Doesn’t sound like this partnership would fully work if I’m being honest, youre better off only trying one at first or spending your money on a reputable tailor.

This is just a weird ass request. Your tailor will 100% think you're a weirdo.

If you’re still in Minneapolis. Talk to Sharon at Tailors on Blake - Replacing lining shouldn’t be too tough. (I can ask her about pricing today when I’m over picking a couple things up if you want)

There are much easier ways to make sure your jacket is full canvas than having her add linings later on though.

Don’t encourage this absolute trainwreck waiting to happen. He’s about to waste money. I’m trying to save him from his own lack of experience

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
