PXL_20241102_161155976-EDIT.jpg

Took home the trousers and shirts today. The jacket sleeves were just a touch long and so I'll have that picked up next week. It's been interesting having the Kiddo's shirt made, because it's been a bonding opportunity and made both of us happy, but you also think about different things. It's deliberately a bit big so that he has room to grow and it's structured to be let out as he grows so that it will last longer.

First fitting on the LGB Gun Club. Button point on this one is going to be an inch lower than on the drapers. It's fun to see how I've had an influence on Luis (the tailor). He showed me the jacket he's making for himself based on the new construction technique we've been working with.

You have a good tailor, I would work with him on lowering the patch pockets and the buttoning point.

The position of the patch pockets looks really high.

It wasn't something I'd thought about before, but I can see that they're higher than on my RTW jackets. I'll definitely think on the feedback.

The buttoning point has already been talked about and was marked but not cut on the jacket today so we could talk it over. I think it'll be improved at the fitting next week.

I would also chang the chest pocket too, but I suppose that’s a strong personal preference thing
This is the last of the first round of jackets that I'm having made up by Luis. Next I'm going to take him the T&L LGB from the cloth thread and have him make those up very conservative and formally, so it'll change moving forward. But I'll think on the breast pocket size as well.

Why is it a flex when your name is on the tailoring label?

This is exactly why it is a flex, that we can devote 80 hours of labor and materials on something as frivolous as a halloween costume. Its a total vanity project that will definitely upset quite a few haters (competitors) on both sides of the pond.

Just brought this home: 385 grams in a Super 130 from Caccioppoli (not sure which book). It’s actually a 3-piece but I got home and realized I’d left the waistcoat there in the midst of a whole lot of fittings, so will grab that next weekend. This is a nice boring mid-grey for those few times in my life when such things are called for; still didn’t stop me from going with an OTT lining, though.

Nice. I love Caccioppoli's jacketing fabrics, but have never tried their suiting fabrics.

They have fall/winter and spring/summer jacketing and suiting books that get refreshed every year.

Another navy jacket, this time hopsack from the H&S mesh bunch, made by Assisi. This is my first summer specific jacket so good start. The fit is very good (one of the cleanest I've had so far) and the jacket is well made. I wonder if the waist can be taken in just a tad but again I got this measured when I was 8 pounds heavier and I probably gain that weight back after holidays..
