Hi everyone! I'm new here and new to classic menswear and I could use an educated opinion, or just a second opinion really.

I (33) have never owned or worn a suit or a sports jacket before. I work in a very casual environment, we're all lefties and descendants of the counterculture and I'm not sure I know anyone who knows how to knot a tie.
However I have grown a bit tired of jeans-tshirt combos lately and have started to wear shirts, leather shoes, or more formal trousers. At a recent wedding of a friend of my partner's (who comes from a different country) I noticed I was the only man not wearing a suit or at least a sports jacket. This was not a problem as there was no official dresscode and I had made sure to look festive in formal navy trousers and classic black leather shoes.
Yet as there are more and more weddings upcoming, and I enjoy buying clothes and dressing up I thought of maaybe finally starting to wear a suit here and there. Probably weddings, maybe future work events or for fun.

TLDR: I want to buy a first suit or sports jacket. I don't need one and will probably not wear it very often but would like to extend my range in appearance.

I have thought of getting a more rugged woolen piece, maybe in brown or dark grey, maybe some classic Harris tweed patterns, I'd love somthing with silk or linen. I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a costume, so nothing to businessy or gangstery. I dress quite colorful so it can be a little eccentric. And yet I absolutely want to avoid looking like an elderly history teacher (no patches, no corduroy!).
Here are some models I thought might suit this description (also the stuff I am able to afford):

Now I found a very luxurious, second-hand Zegna suit that I could never afford for less than 200 $. I went to try it on. Its not quite as edgy, but hey, it feels fantastic. Opinions? I am a bit unsure if that is a slim fit and what I think of that? Also the color?

Thankful for all your kind inputs!
