Dear God, what's next?

Field trip to the New York City side of town to watch Woody Allen's "jazz" at the Carlyle?

I confess I rather like Cafe Lalo.

I'm getting repugnant whiffs of NYC eliter-than-thou-ness in this thread, and would like to remind you snobs that since last October, all your base are belong to DC.

I think I may have walked by it yesterday, but don't really remember.

My wife and I like to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning to sample random things and pick out new stuff to eat at home. It's a lot of fun, actually.

They have the right to be eliter-than-thou. For example, the dwarf attacked a mugger who was armed with a gun with nothing but his bare hands and bespoke suit.

I hope Foofy learns from him so that one day we may see a WAYWRN shot of Foof beating down one of his stalker, Belgian shoes in hand wielded with force in a kind of pummelling motion.

Yea - Lalo is a good stop for the bus between Magnolia Bakery and Katz - dinner at Tavern on the Green tonight, folks ! I wish I knew DC well so I could discuss what vastly overrated eateries are best visited with a guidebook in hand there.

I bet a Foofwing wielded in such a manner would be devastating.

I am fairly certain that there are no restaurants in DC. When I go there, I have to pack in.

Those are not for hand to hand combat...those are best flung from a distance, Oddjob style.

Magnolia blows and is a trend. But Zabar's and Lalo? Come on--they are quality. Zabar's has been around for 80 years or so, and the Upper West Side is hardly a tourist destination. When we go, it's usually filled with locals.

I've never been to Katz's. We don't go down there.

Did you wife take your last name? Now that I think of it, I have never seen a white girl named something like Melissa Fan. Maybe it's just very rare.

Ironically, I bet you're one of those Frenchmen who hates Parisians too.
