Ok, so I ripped off The Online Photographer blog, but this is one of those cameras that actually excites me.

It is apparently the successor of this beauty:

I will get this if the quality is at least as good as the current 4/3 SLRs from Oly. very cool. The pano G1 is a disappointment in terms of form factor.

I waited all day and got an update of the "next model" to be unveiled May 26th. This model is from 1961.

Not as drop-dead gorgeous as the prototype, which really got my want juices going - but last year there wasn't a definite 'go' so I ended up picking up an M8.2.

For a photographic two-thumbs like me, this probably would do just as good a job. Consider me ever so slightly cheesed off. Oh well.

I still have an old OM-2N with Olympus lenses. Still works fine. An under-rated brand imho. I mostly shoot a Nikon F-100 with low dispersion pro glass.

I will buy this camera. Maybe not the week it becomes available, but definitely within the first 2 or 3 months. I'm looking forward to the production models.

What pisses me off (because apparently something always does) is that they seem to have a manual focus ring with no damn distance scale on it. Seems very pointless, as if the focus ring is just something for idiots to spin.

I own an old Oly Pen and love the camera's size and styling. Stylistically I was really diggin the prototype for this new 4/3, the production model seems ok in that respect. Not nearly as cool looking, but I will probably still consider buying it.

I wish I could get my hands on the Pen F but they seem pretty expensive when they pop up.

The rangefinder would be cool too (especially if cheap) but the SLR seems more interesting...
