call me plain but i love white shirts with navy ties. just stick with lighter shades for work. if the shirt and tie are both patterned make sure they arent too similar. avoid dark colors unless you're wearing it to go out at night, and lose the tie

How expensive is it to shorten the sleeve length of a blazer by lifting the sleeve at the shoulder, instead of doing it at the cuff? I know prices vary by tailor, but is it one of those things that's generally considered an expensive alteration?

Is there any other way to shorten the sleeve length for a jacket with working button holes that I'm not not aware of?

Must be more specific brother. Day or night occasion? Work? Church? What season? What context? Where do you live? Is the suit patterned or solid?

If I just said 'pink', would you accept my advice based on the parameters of your question?

Not to flame you, bro, but vague questions like this are self-defeating.

You can't be helped without providing more detailed information. Seriously, why would you trust any advice you get in response to a question as unspecific as that.

Here, let me pose one: What sort of car should I buy? Oh, if it helps, I may be doing some driving.

Buy these. $400 for the set:

It's hard to **** up a gray suit. I might go pink shirt blue tie, but like mlyngard said, depends on situation. Can't really think of anything that wouldn't 'go' with a gray suit though. Wear brown shoes.

Anyone know of a good place to get my jeans altered in Richmond, VA? Looking to get my flathead f380s hemmed and tapered.

I'm trying to incorporate madras and flannel ties into my wardrobe. I take it madras is typically better for spring/summer whereas flannel can work in autumn/winter. I realize this is really dependent on the colors in the tie but does this sound about right? What type of shirt would they work with? I imagine it's sort of hard to match up plaid to a madras tie or something and that you'd need a solid colored oxford button-down or something. Also, in what cases is it right to wear a tie casually? Can you wear them with button-down shirts? I have some tweed ties I just bought that I really love as well but I'm never sure how to pull them off casually. I love the whole look Daiki Suzuki has going on in this pic, though, and I imagine it's a button-down. Can anyone comment on this? http://ndn1.newsweek.com/media/97/gr...l-vertical.jpg

if at any time you wear a tie with a shirt that has no buttons you will look like a member of a pop/punk band. i have a bunch of the hillside chambray and twill ties, as well as a few vintage linen and cotton knits, that i wear with jeans and desert boots or converse, but thats just me. i would also never wear cargo pants (pic) unless i was on an episode of survivor man
