Got a few photos back from my wedding photographer so wanted to post these up.

This is my "not going to wear a tuxedo and also not a navy business suit" suit:

Bespoke Sartoria Formosa in Dormeuil Tonik wool/mohair
2 button, peak lapel, blue dyed MOP buttons
Higher waisted trousers with side tabs
3 piece with lapeled vest

Cotton/linen G. Inglese shirt, Calabrese wedding tie, Kent Wang linen square, Vass black calf captoes on the F last

Wife is in custom Marchesa couture

Thank you to all for the input especially @gdl203 and @unbelragazzo

i like that

36214605676_6b232f98e5_c.jpg

i ordered this armani collezioni tuxedo online
the online photo looked like it was plain black and there was no mention of any pattern ...
but it has a ... "fish scale" looking pattern all over

i have 2 more tuxedos on the way
if none of them work for me, i may go with the Kent Wang MTM tuxedo ... or go with a 3-piece suit

Cross post from the Sartoria Volpe. This is my idea of most formal suit set up for a wedding straight after a proper morning suit.
Was one of the best men at a wedding in Apulia today. Lost 10kg from the first fitting (6kg from the 1st to the 2nd, 2kg more from the 2nd to the 3rd and 2 more since...)
Jacket fits perfectly (shirt French cuff could have been a bit tighter), waistcoat and trouser will need a bit of taking in if I reach my target weight.

Hi everyone

I'm preparing for my wedding in the upcoming months, and I want to get your advice for my outfit. My suit color is dark navy-grey and the shirts will be plain-white. I'm quite confused about the color of tie and pocket square, I have 3 ties as below, which tie do you think will be the best option for me and also give me the idea about pocket square also. Thank you guys all!

1, Six fold hand-rolled from Berg&Berg

2, Plain navy summer wool from Berg&Berg

3, Brown blue geomatric from John Henric

All three ties are nice but not for a wedding IMHO. I would stick with the usual advice of a grey/silver based tie (what we call here wedding tie) and white pocket square.

At the wedding I recently attended as best man, I bought the groom the tie, a navy base with silver puppytooth as his suit was in a dark royal blue.

And a white linen pocketsquare is never wrong.

Won't clash with any foliage in the boutonniere which might be forced upon you.

Thanks for your comment. Regarding to silver tie, can this one be acceptable?

Does the wedding tie need to be plain or it can be more fun with the small pattern such as polka dot?

Typically, they are pretty plain (no pattern, you need to somewhat match the bride or her bridesmaids) from my research, but they don't have to be just silver. I'm also getting married next year. I have a bespoke midnight blue suit with the final fitment being tailored as we speak. I already bought a champagne satin Michael Kors tie. I think it adds a bit more than just silver and we decided to go with champagne as our theme.

Either of those ties would be fine. The tie doesn't need to necessarily be plain, nor silver; for example, houndstooth, glen plaid, shepherds check are all acceptable (the houndstooth and check could be in black and white). Sam Hober as a category of wedding ties on his website that you can look at as well, although, I don't recall ever seeing polka dot.

I suggested silver based on the navy suit choice, but above a quick reminder of typical wedding tie patterns. Black/ white, blue/white, blue/silver, silver/white, are all acceptable based on what colour suit you are wearing (I prefer dark grey for the groom). White picket square is the best choice.
