Amazon is determined to spend a billion dollars making that show. I'd love to know how its viewer stats stack up. It's gotta be a financial loss, but just how massive?

The loss is massive. Amazon makes an obscene amount of revenue every year, so it has the money to blow on "riskier" ventures like content streaming and original TV and film productions.

The trailer was a breath of a fresh air. No countdowns. No "Trailer. Starts. Now." bullshit. No spoilers. They don't make trailers like they used to.

I have no idea what the main story is of this one and I love it.

Putting the poem "Boots" over it was genius. Creepy.

Speaking of bombs, I saw an article recently saying that the legendary bomb, John Carter, is actually a decent movie, and that its failure was due to bad marketing and crazy budget overruns. So I gave it a shot. It's definitely bad, but it's not terrible, at least not epically so. I can believe it was one of the most expensive movies ever made, because it does not look cheap, and for a twelve year old movie, the CGI holds up reasonably well.

i'd read the book and watched this in the theater . def bad marketing they didn't even include 'of Mars' in the film title . the dog's eye view bit was legitimately great .

The Spiderverse movies do it right. It’s an organic part of the narrative and never feels forced.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
