I have that backpack, and I wouldn't recommend it... the black canvas part gathers dust/specks pretty easily.

And so far I think the best deals I have seen are mostly on Ssense(half of the items are 70% off and the Canadian pricing is also cheaper). Any other places similar to the Ssense sale now?

I just got notice that Purdey started their 30% off sale: http://www.purdey.com/clothing-accessories/sale/

...which includes their in-house Islay model from here: http://www.purdey.com/clothing-accessories/grain-leather-brogue-boots-boot061.aspx

At 30% off it's £370.00 ($545) but for us colonists it's minus VAT at £308 ($454) and free shipping to US. Instakop for me :nodding:.

( see my post in the C&J thread with links to discussions about the similarity/differences between a standard C&J Islay and the in-house models of Purdey and Richard James here )

don't think I've seen the Wings+Horns sale mentioned here. 40% off on a lot of stuff and with the cheap CAD seems like a good time to pick up some basics. 20 bucks for shipping to the US though

Credit card "Price Protection"?

I bought an expensive Billy Reid coat a couple weeks ago and the price dropped....I can still return it, but the retailer won't refund the difference and my size is sold-out so I can't just re-order another to save the $150.
This got me to thinking about using my Chase Freedom credit card's "price protection" to get the difference back. I'm not exactly sure if they honor 'discount codes' or how it works so I thought I'd reach out to this sub and see if anyone has been successful.
If it works it could be quite the benefit to this sub! It would definitely make cards that have this "price protection" the ones to use on clothing purchases. (Apparently my Chase card has this benefit, but my Capital one quicksilver doesn't)

If your size is sold out that's pretty fucked up. You bought earlier and ensured you got your size.

Citibank does the "price rewind" which is what you are describing, its super easy and you can manually submit a claim if the item is not in their database. see https://www.citipricerewind.com

If the price drop is due to the FW sale clearout to make room for the new SS stuff then it is not fair the store should refund you the difference. Most of the good stuff usually sells out before black friday and what is leftover is usually the extra small or extra large sizes and the stuff that no one wants.

If your size is sold out then it was sellable before the sale and then stores have a end of season sale to clear out stuff, which is where you are at now.

Actually, same here. I don't see myself getting enough wear out of it to justify it either ... but ... it's been long on my list of "I just have to have those" (and that list is actually pretty short these days). That said, I'm seriously looking forward to every opportunity I'll get to break 'em out.

Thanks for this.  Just kopped 7.5!

Excellent!!! :fistbump:
