yes, thank you! 60s lacquer looks very likely i had forgotten about the sonic youth models as well (the lee ranaldo version is intriguing, maybe source some cunife hbs...). @El Argentino cs is maybe out of price but i'll look on reverb for some love. i absolutely dig the color on your strat btw, the flat reds are so great on fenders much better than CAR imo. thanks again!

To be clear im open to either radius but im allergic to the 'modern c' neck profile, I need more meat in the neck. My current git has a pretty flat fretboard, dunno the measurement but it dont fret out when I bend. The prospective fender is likely to get 13s so it comes down to grip feel.

If you can get a Mayer or Beck neck, I think you'll very much enjoy the heft.

I've never seen a chunky neck on an offset. They look like they're the same shape, but do strat necks fit into jazzmaster bodies?

i don't think they're interchangeable... but there are always custom licensed necks to be had from warmoth, etc they offer different carves to order. but of course is always nice (and easier to flip if necessary) to get something as factory.

btw i'm coming to the conclusion that the ES-339 is maybe the greatest gibson design ever. i've had mine for awhile but only now getting around to really exploring it after shedding a couple of other instruments, what a fun versatile bit of gear (and mine is the stripped down studio version!). i love the slab LPs but i am quickly becoming a super enthusiast for that little semi hollow.

definitely the 335 is roomier there, the les paul seems to have more room in spite of being a slighty smaller body overall. so that may be an issue for players who spend time above say the 15th fret...

mine is a studio and doesn't have binding, so that edge of the body is pretty soft, almost 'bloopy' actually. so it doesn't seem like an obstacle but i might notice more if that edge was harder as with binding... plus i don't really live way up on that part of the fretboard (but i do spend a lot of time up the neck). i'll add that i have 11s and the action is a slightly lifted cause i like to wrestle things a little. so ergonomically it works for me.

it does have me scratching my head a little tho... this came with 57s and it doesn't sound like a LP or a 335, it's got a really distinct thing going on... 'tweener tone? i dunno, it's just a joy to play and write on.

picking up my classical guitar again. I'm now at the spot where I can re-learn stuff each week. Not looking forward to that learning curve levelling off.

Have to say really enjoying noodling on the bass. Thinking of grabbing a Strat in the next several months. I suspect I want an S/S/HB
