yeah i sniffed around and the strat he plays on 'My Old School' was home-brew specifically for direct to board so he's one of those guys. i thought those might have been filtertrons... that live tone is hellacious.

Think I'm going to take some bass lessons in the fall just for some IRL tuition and motivation. I am amazed at the quality instruction on youtube for free though. Talking Bass, for instance, is really damn good.

I've been thinking about getting a bass. I toy with the idea of a vintage Danalectro longhorn, a Hofner Beatle bass or Fender. All three of those were used to record so much classic rock and pop in the 60's.

thinking about an offset fender but i'd like to find one with a vintage-y neck. any non-avri models offer this? thx mangs.

Mayer and Beck Strats are nice and thick necks.

The CS'63 I picked up a few months ago has the absolute greatest neck I have ever played. Couldn't be more satisfied with that guitar.
