Ok I love the prestige neck and the fixed bridge that's designed to mimick the look of a tremolo. But ****, that volume knob there is killing me. Gets in the way any time I mute the upper register strings. ******* annoying.

Gonna get rid of the tone pot and move the volume over in its place.

i've noticed a funny fashion cycle with guitars, and right now we're probably right around peak "small-bodied acoustic". parlors, 0s, 00s, are pretty much the thing these days.

now i love a good small bodied acoustic, but imma make a case for the D-18: there is a secret guitar hiding within the D-18, where if you strum it lightly it's a great singer's git, but if you lay into it with a stout pick the top "wakes up" and you get an incredibly woody percussive beast, particularly with high-action bluegrass style flat picking. yeah you gotta wrestle it a little but that's half the fun.

I love my D-21. Perfect balance between depth and shimmer IMO.

Tired of Gilmour, so went back to a white pickguard.

I picked this baby up on Friday. Gretsch 2014 6120 '59 LTV. My first go into Gretsch territory and I'm loving it so far. This thing still had the plastic on the pickguard. It didn't have a scratch on it either. The guy bought it new, played it a handful of times then traded it in. I couldn't pass it up.

Looks pretty cool.

Did Strymon ever update/release something new in terms of their Big Sky? I was ready to buy last fall but held off as it seemed they were about ready to release the next gen thing.

I don't think we'll see an updated Big Sky - we haven't seen an updated Timeline and that came out way after.

Any news on something new in that area or should I just buy it?

Have you considered the Eventide H9?

If you want something less crazy, the new MXR reverb looks really nice.

I looked at the H9 and admit I wonder what the learning curve is?

I think you can control it all from an iPad. Can't be that complicated.

Those are some nice LPs.

I badly cut the pad on the ring finger on my left (fretting) hand by being an idiot and not practicing proper knife skills with my very sharp gyuto. Time to learn how to play the slide guitar for the next week or so I guess.
