I agree about the refs. There were so many fouls right outside the box that the US was getting and Algeria wasn't getting any of the calls when they were down by the US goal.

Yea, ref probably heard some choice words and/or felt like they'd be a threat to them/US in terms of unnecessary physical play to end the last 2 minutes since they were going to lose and could freely be asses. Like how refs in nba games start teching people up in blowouts when it gets chippy or nfl players getting booted for late hits when losing by a bunch. Happens all the time in sports and in club soccer too

Altidore got his ankles stomped on all night. If the referee would've been as biased for the US as you say, Algeria would've been down to nine men. Did you watch that play where Altidore was almost through on goal? He got his leg stomped and the Algerian defender walked away scott-free.
