I’d say the zug feels slightly thicker and stiffer, and has an almost plasticky appearance initially. I still haven’t worn these much but I’ve seen older pairs where the artificial appearance has gone and they look amazing. I need to give these some serious hammer to get there.

I’d say the zug feels slightly thicker and stiffer, and has an almost plasticky appearance initially. I still haven’t worn these much but I’ve seen older pairs where the artificial appearance has gone and they look amazing. I need to give these some serious hammer to get there.

Yeah it takes a while, but these are my brown zug grain Grassmeres. It took a long time for that “plastic” or “artificial” look to go away, but once it does the leather is quite beautiful.

Ha these look lovely. Just sold my black Grassmeres and a pair of Sign Kudu Stows and remember thinking while seeing them on the feet of the buyer of how handsome the boots are. Zero regrets though. The feeling of satisfaction at shrinking the collection is worth it.

I totally agree. I’ve gained more pleasure from my recent sales than acquisitions.

Anyone had a pair of the “lightweight” models converted to have the standard tricker’s treatment? I can only find the model I’m after in lightweight, but I’d really prefer the leather, cork, etc. Seems silly paying the MTO premium for what could be part of a normal resole.
