NYC Wedding Suit Shopping Advice

Hi there!

First time poster/long time reader here. I'm recently engaged and just about to start shopping for my wedding suit. I'm based in NYC and looking for a navy suit in the $1.5K - $2K range. My previous suits have been Brooks Brothers/Spier & MacCay so I'm excited to explore a slightly higher price point for my big day!

The shops/suits I'm definitely planning on checking out to start are:
- Sid Mashburn (new shop in the UES): looking at their Kincaid No.3 High Twist

Kincaid No. 3 Suit in Navy High-Twist

If you can only have one suit in your closet, this should be it. High-twist is a fine, smooth, year-round wool that travels beautifully... the threads just spring into place, no matter how hard you wear it, which makes this suit a real workhorse with serious range. (We recommend it for...

A bit about me for reference: 5'10" 160 lbs with an average/slimmish build, usually a 40R US size.

Paul Stuart may have some decent options in your price range; Canali may also have some but they can be pricier depending on model/fabric. There are also a small number of MTM clothiers who can probably make a good suit for $2k if that's an option as well.

Congrats on the engagement. Check out Sartoria Carrera at No Man Walks Alone as well. Between the Armoury and No Man Walks Alone you should have your RTW and MTM options checked.
