Dunno, maybe because Corthay is a much smaller business, wouldn't reckon they have much stock left after each season. Lobb and C&J are big names, which some people outside of SF will also probably know from seeing them at local stores.

It's just a personal feeling and disassociation of brand and reseller, nothing more or less. Just surprised.
