I have always been the kind of guy who avoid directions ... having more fun just figuring things out for myself. Yes, that means things don't go right from time to time ... but in the long run I think have more fun.

In my 10th grade math class ... after I'd finished the final ... I went back and read the directions. My particular copy of the test had personalized directions:

RSS, you are my only student this year to have a perfect GPA.
You are excused from taking the final ... enjoy this hour as you wish.


Okay ... maybe I should read directions. But ... later that day of the final I ran into my math teacher at which time he noted in a rather surprised tone "You took the test." I responded "You said I could do as I wished." Okay ... I wasn't totally truthful ... but the grin on his face was worth the fib.
