What patterns do you typically wear for work? If you wear ties on the weekend or just generally to go out in what patterns do you wear then?

Nothing wrong with a good jacquard. Drakes current line-up doesn't feature any.

Printed neats are for igent sissies. :D

In my experience knits sometimes need to be narrower than other ties, else the knot can be huge. It's yet another characteristic which can sometimes make them easier to fit into casual outfits.

Everything depends on the construction, of course. Buying knits sight-unseen over the net can be treacherous: the measurements are less reliable as an indication of ultimate knot size.
