Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread. I'm wondering if the opinion of Neapolitan 3 piece suit has changed?

I wear suits for more formal settings, church, weddings, and funerals. As such I try to order 3 piece suits when ever possible for flexibility. But I seldom see Neapolitan 3 piece suits. In the few examples I saw, it is as mentioned previously, that the vest tend to be low and trousers low.

Should I stay away from Neapolitan if I want a 3 piece and stick with English/British cut? Or are there some Neapolitan tailors you would recommend for 3 piece suits.

Thanks.

The only Neapolitan tailor that I've seen wear a 3-piece suit is Gennaro Paone of Sartoria Paone at one of my fittings. He used to be a cutter at Rubinacci.

If you want to go the Neapolitan route, I'd go with one of the more traditional Neapolitan tailors such as Paone or Zizolfi.

I have a 3 piece from my tailor. I think it does fine.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
