Has anyone gone here for custom suits, or at least alterations? He has good reviews, was friendly and knowledgeable. From his website, I didn’t know he did bespoke, but he said he always has and is updating the website. He said he does two fittings, and does all the work himself. What concerned me is that he said the price ranges from $800-$1600. His made to measure is $600-$700. That seems too cheap. What am I missing? Honestly I forgot to ask about canvassing.

I've used Myers Park for all my tailoring since I moved to Charlotte. Honestly, they're great to work with. I also bought a suit MTM from Wally and paid about $750 for a 120s fabric. It was only one fitting, but the suit fit perfectly, so that was fine for me. I believe I heard they are full canvassed, but I have never figured out the pinch test so I can't confirm with my own suit. For what it's worth, I have plans to purchase some trousers, at least one sportcoat, and a tuxedo this year, all from Myers Park. For the price, I'm not sure you'll find much better.

Great to hear. Were you aware that he did bespoke, and if so have you heard or seen good things? I have weird shoulders-he told me, forward pointing, and those prices are within my budget, but seem unrealistically low.

I agree with you on the low prices. I asked him one time how he was able to keep prices so low when everywhere else around town was well north of 1K, and he only said that he kept much lower overhead than those shops. I have no idea how much of that is true, but I know I'm more than happy with what I got, especially for what I paid.

As far as his bespoke, I didn't know that he gave two separate offerings. I guess with bespoke you probably get a basted fitting, which I didn't get. When I go for my next project, I'll ask him more. That said, not sure there's a whole lot of extra benefit given that we can make any small adjustments I might want off of the suit I already have.

If you're in the market, I'd say go with Wally. You're gonna get a high quality garment and great service for a fair price, so you can't really go wrong.
