my skin is brown.what formal dress is best?

i wanted to go to a wedding. but cant get what to wear. i m trying to go with white shirt and purple tie. is that ok for brown skin? or what ll be the best? i dont like red tie or shirt both.

brown skin goes with most things, especially white shirts... but shirt and tie combo depends on the suit colour etc.

I'd advise against a black suit for a wedding, unless you're also celebrating the death of bachelorhood.

some people here dislike black suits, personally i like them, and out there in the 'real world' nobody will bat an eye. i'd say the outfit you have in mind will look good with your colouring. enjoy the occasion!

White shirt and purple tie is certainly a good combination. If your best looking suit is black, I would go for it.

Lighter hues look good on brown skin. I see a lot of beiges or creams now,e specially since its summer.

but otherwise, if its a formal wedding and you are supposed to dress formally, then a black suit is appropriate - and one of the few times where it is other than a gala, ballroom dinner, 'black tie' event, or funeral.

WHy not wear light blue shirt, like a tone on tone color for your suits, shirts.
