Hi guys, I have been contemplating ordering a combination oxford - calf on the bottom with matching suede above. I was thinking about Dark Oak and Mink Suede until Leffot posted these pictures today. The Dark Oak seems much lighter than the mink suede. Is this due to the flash used or is tobacco suede a better match? I would greatly appreciate any experience you could share and feel free to vote your opinion. Thank you!

I DO like the shoes as posted. Now, if they'd just add a norvegese stitch...

Think the shoes would look better with the rams horns on the toes. The toe area looks so sterile.

Although in dark blue it does seem to work.

Those aren't even the shoes I am considering. I am asking which suede most closely matches dark oak. As someone who lives outside NY and am unable to see the shoes prior to purchase, I am asking the opinion of SF as I thought mink most closely matched dark oak until I saw the pictures above.

So I ask again, is the mink appearing much darker than the dark oak due to the flash being used or is tobacco suede a closer match to the actual dark oak color?

The mink or mocha will be the closest match to the dark oak color. The tobacco is a fine color, indeed that's what I would have, but it provides a greater contrast to the dark oak than the other two and I don't think that's what you are after;so discount tobacco.

Dark Oak with Mink (best combo):

Tobacco (too light and yellowish to combine with Dark Oak):

Mocha (too light to combine with Dark Oak):

Due to the lighting the Dark Oak almost looks like a Chestnut Antigue.

If you like toe caps, consider the Gladstone.
