Meltonian Shoe Cream discontinued?

I stopped by the local shoe hospital to pick up a new jar of #10, and was told that Meltonian was discontinued due to a carcinogen in it. I picked up a couple of jars of Kelly's, while I was there, and will see how that works out. Has anyone else heard anything about this? A Google search didn't shed any light on it...

Nick, Did they call back existing stock or allow it to sell out? I have 15+ jars and wonder if I have a problem on my hands. Any information is appreciated.

My main supplier is the largest in N.Y.
They had to send them back. I'll see if I can find out more info on why tomorrow.

S.C. Johnson bought Melt. a few years back. They wanted to make the product more environmentally friendly. They decided to use less solvents and go in the direction of water-based products. As a result, all of the colors/formulas got messed up. Rather than work on correcting the problems they chose defunct the entire Meltonian brand.

Being as large as they are it made no sense for them to pursue the shoe care product industry.

There is no danger in using what ever remaining products that you may have at home.
