Which is more versatile, white or cream jacket?

So I popped into the boutique to see this piece in person:

And it's actually quite cropped. Here's a pic from BG:

The length seems incongruent with the formality of the piece.

By comparison, here's a PS piece that's a bit longer, and looks better imo:

As mentioned above, I saw it in-person, and it's a cropped coat - it even looked a bit odd on the mannequin.

Still a nice piece, but not worth the $6k USD.

Sure, I'm just saying that the PS coat looks about the same length.

Or if it's longer, it certainly makes the model look shorter.

Which is more versatile, white or cream jacket?

Cream, and look for a fabric with some texture, such as an Irish linen, that is heavier than lighter. The heavier hangs better in my experience.
