Matching a plum/purple pair of pants

That's a nice shade of purple. I have a couple pair of purple pants and I like to mix up some of my etro shirts with them. They tend to be more patterned or striped, but the colors work for me. If you want to be more on the conservative side then you can do like the model in the picture, a white shirt or grey, very safe. If you wanted to be a bit more daring with color than yellow or green would work just not too bright as the purple in those pants is a bit muted so whatever you pair it with should be that way also. I would stay away from red and orange.

Here's a really bad camera pic of what I had in mind. I might swap the gingham shirt for a better fitting gray one. Thoughts?
