So I'm about to retire this really old YSL manbag as it's starting to fall apart. It currently carries my money clip and card case, two cellphones (one is a Treo), digital camera and small tripod, notebook, index cards, pen, tic-tacs, house and car keys, and various other small items. I'm eyeing this as a replacement. It's going for approx $20 (buy-it-now) on Ebay.ph: Does this sound like a good deal? Any other bags you'd care to recommend?

It looks decent... However if you are in a position to where you can get to a wilsons outlet store.. or any other "leather chain" outlet store.. you could get something new for the same price and then with that you know exactly what you are getting.... leather, to me, is a hard thing to buy over e-bay because you can't tell the quality through a picture.. Best of luck!

I have a Mulholland Brothers Messenger Bag in Stout leather. The strap was a little suboptimal and so I had one custom made at a leather shop in Greenwich Village.

As long as $20 counts as low-risk to you, go ahead. You just never know what you're getting with Ebay stuff.

BTW, I really like the YSL bag. What about having a copy made?

I like the YSL bag too. The Ebay bag reminds me of shoulder bags carried by middle-aged French men on holiday.

We carry the Filson bags at our store. Call the store and we give 30% off the retail list price. We also have a coupon code for Style Forum members - "INSANE" that gives you pretty close to the same thing.
