Quick Shatnez alert for my observant Jewish SF friends: All six of my 100% wool VBC @Luxire trousers were lined in a cotton/linen blend which renders them Shatnez. This appears to be Luxire's default choice of material for waistband, pocketing, crotch, etc so be sure to specify that they use a 100% cotton substitute when ordering a wool or wool blend garment.

Seems like one shoulder has more of a bump than the other, albeit a relatively minor bump. Didn't you have that problem with your other jacket as well?

I don't really see much of a bump in the photos. It looks like one of the sleeves may be attached ever so slightly higher than the other one, so that it's sitting a little bit higher, almost like a very subdued roped shoulder. But honestly I had to look really hard at the photo to notice that at all. The first jacket they made had a really big issue where one of the sleeves was attached incorrectly to the shoulder, resulting in a very large bump, which they fixed for free. You're right though, I did have to pay the return shipping and wait a while for it to be fixed and returned. And I need to wear this jacket for a (very casual daytime outdoor) wedding next week, so hopefully there are no issues to fix!

@archibaldleach

Fabric looks nice. Probably need to let the seat out a bit.

Thanks. I'm going to get back to doing some regular cardio for the next month or so. I'm a touch heavier than I was when I ordered these. If that doesn't work, I agree that a bit more room in the seat is probably a decent plan.

I haven't popped in this thread in a while, so what's the difference between Luxire and LuxireStudio (users) and is there a difference between messaging one versus the other with queries or are they simply separate accounts for two colleagues?

That was where I got the idea, yeah. I was surprised when I measured and found the front was a full 2 inches shorter than the rear panel on one of my Epaulet shirts. And by the time I realized this was why they work so much better as casual shirts than any of my MTM (that were the same front & back), I had already worked out a bunch of niggles so starting from scratch and having them just copy an Epaulet shirt would have set me back a lot more than it would have gotten me ahead. But after the test shirt wasn't quite right, we seem to have gotten it figured out.

Your picture seems to represent that the new shirt is straight across the bottom-front, at least for a bit. In contrast, the Epaulet shirt maintains a constant curve across the bottom-front. Am I seeing this correctly and if so is it safe to assume you are still happy with the look when the Luxire shirt is on?

LuxireStudio primarily adds images here that are clicked in and around our office. The PM inbox is seldom checked.

Always best to write email or use the Contact Us option.

I ordered some 14oz denim recently with some pretty specific customisations. Hoping Luxire post pics before they send them out next week. If not, I'll post some pics for all here.

I know bugger-all about fabric weight, and always struggle when reading descriptions on the interweb. But from an Australian point of view, would 14oz be medium or heavy weight fabric? Would you wear it for a Melbourne winter?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
