Luxire casual unstructured summer jacket constructed in Brisbane Moss Navy Canvas.

There are so many key details you nailed on this -- the shape of the lapels, that small high notch up at the collarbone, the way the shoulders are set. This is outstanding.

I was about to post the same. Although I find the lapel notch a tad high, I could certainly be happy with a jacket like this!

Although I think @luxire needs to use a better tie on their mannequin. It would bring the quality of the product photography to a whole new level.

Thank you! We also think that this is the best we have made. We will await feedback from the owner, who is an active friend here.

Agree on tie! Exactly what we discussed internally after seeing these images.

Talking of ties, some very interesting ones are in production. Many shades of silk dupioni and some wonderful woven designs. Apart from these, we are also making a few styles in wool flannels and checks.

That navy unstructured jacket is mine! Can't wait to get it (hopefully tomorrow), judging from the pics it looks like they absolutely nailed it. And the measurements were not changing substantially from the sand canvas jacket I had made recently, so the fit should be spot on as well. As mentioned by a few people, I may lower the gorge just a bit on future orders, but that's a pretty minor detail.

What was the turn around from date of order to shipping? I know Luxire already had your pattern saved from your previous jacket order but I'm just curious. Thanks.

Turnaround was very quick on this one, about 6 weeks. But like you said, they already had my pattern and made only very minor changes, so if it was a first order I'm sure it would have taken longer.

Seems like one shoulder has more of a bump than the other, albeit a relatively minor bump. Didn't you have that problem with your other jacket as well?

might be the mannequin. hopefully they didn't do that again.

Could be, but it might be good to ask them to double check before they send it. Could save you having to pay for return shipping. That might actually be a good business practice for jackets and more expensive items (not shirts), if that's feasible for Luxire.

Take a picture of the finished jacket, send it to the owner and give them 48 hours to reply with any issues or things that need to be double checked. If there's no reply/no issues the jacket can be shipped straight away, if there are any errors luxire could fix the jacket straight away and send the jacket when it's been fixed.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
