A simple question to all veterans: If I need a waist with different front and back waist size. How do you usually order it and do the shirt arrive as ordered (with different front and back waist size)?

eg. Waist: 20'' front, 18'' back and yes

I see alot of you gents purchasing button down collars from luxire. Is this work appropriate if you don't wear ties? My workplace dress code for me is just a dress shirt and dress pants. Heck sometimes I can get away with chino's.

What a BD collar look too casual?

^ It may depend on your workplace, but IMO if your workplace is casual enough to not require a tie, a button down collar should be just fine. I personally dislike button down collars but would probably wear them a lot more in a business casual environment were it not for my personal aversion.

Yeah I don't think I like them on a dress shirt per say. All my casual shirts I wear outside the office are from Club Monaco, they're all button down.

I'd say that if you're not wearing a tie, a buttondown collar is not just appropriate, it's ideal. In my experience other collar types often don't sit right without a jacket and tie. But then, I come from the northeastern american WASP school of dressing.

I would generally agree. When I do wear non button down collared shirts w/out tie, I use magnetic collar stays that mimic a button down look and keep the collar in place.

Any chance of green olive linen for pants (or actually a safari jacket)? I know it's out of season... but not my season. It felt like 80f yesterday all day. Same today.

It's not that they don't sit right, but normal collars just don't have that roll. And this is coming from someone who hated button down collars up until recently. It makes me a little sad that they're not worn more often around these parts of the world. If you're going to wear a suit with no tie, you might as well wear it with a button down collar.

A lot of Non-BD stiff collars look just fine without a tie.

True, there's nothing wrong with a nice spread or cutaway collar, but some roll here and there wouldn't hurt. Besides, many guys are wearing those sagging collars that basically fall inside their jacket.
