@gettoasty No I don't think it's short at all. The sleeves are long so that might make the body seem a little shorter but I don't think so. I'm actually wearing it now so If walk past a mirror I'll take a photo.

What's the best price I could expect for a Kaftan in black.

Thinking 400ish is my budget if that's possible. Neighbourhood has one at 670 in the newest season but I do want to spend money on more than one thing this sale season and that would make that difficult.

If it never goes to 4-5, what coats should I look at that are similar?

I'll sell you an AW16 yak wool (dark charcoal) for $400 size 48. Sitting in my closet, worn 5x. Arms a bit slim for me.

Were the arms too narrow because AW16 cuts were slimmer or was this when Lemaire got fuller again? I can't recall.

Not sure TBH. The arms were definitely slim on the AW16 model, just comparing stock images they are more full this fall.

I tried them on and they're really great, although I sized down since they were a bit too oversized. My coworkers have them too and the neckline in particular is super nice on.

I called when they started carrying women’s and they said they didn’t plan on sticking the men’s line.
Same for Frances May; they started stocking women’s but said nah for men’s
