Cross post from NMWA thread: James Grose black suede shearling. Quick photos trying it on.

Uncertain how to quote myself and get the photos to show up automatically (not as attachment links), but edited so they are there.

I really really want that jacket but I really dont have money hahahaha

Was eyeing a Fine Creek Lynchburg and tried on a 44 but the back doesn't work for me.

Anyone want to suggest something similar?

I'd be interested to hear what you didn't like as well as your thoughts on sizing. I'm guessing a 44 is basically an XL? Not that I can in any way justify buying one, but the Richmond is pretty much my dream jacket at the moment (unless someone can suggest a better horsehide type 1).

The back was kind of billowy and didn't have gusseting or anything. It is probably since that would be authentic for a motorcycle jacket but I don't care that much. They do. Lot of stuff like that for the detail obsessed (the jackets at Self Edge had different cuts of leather for the two sides and had cut off epaulets and belts since that would be more authentic.)

Interesting. Hopefully the pleats and cinch-back will make the Richmond a little more contoured.

Shearling bikers seem pretty of the moment (or maybe they are timeless and classic and I've just never noticed). Looks like Falcon has something like this, and Thedi. Maybe they'll be around still when it makes more sense for you to buy one!

Or you'll move to Key West and then you won't need one.

I tried on the rider. The leather is truly heavy and very nice.

The cut was strange. It felt like the arms were somehow sown closer to the chest so that a movement of the arm would move the whole jacket. Associate told me it’s just thick leather but I’ve had thick leather jackets they shouldn’t do that.

Shameless plug. Just listed a near brand new black horsehide ELMC Californian in the classifieds. Cant return it and need to size up to a 42.
