Not to mention that a leather coat is heavy AF.

I was looking into a carol leather parka and if my jackets are already super heavy I cant imagine 2x the weight on me, just a word of caution

I have a guidi hh coat and yeah it’s heavy but tbh I have normal length jackets that are heavier, so don’t be so sure it’s unbearable just because it’s a longer coat.

Wow! That’s not something you see often. Really sharp.

I always thought RC’s Hercules would make the perfect one-jacket.

As much as I like the hercules its got the typical big pointy collar I can’t work with and for being what I consider a half belt it boggles my mind as to why they would put the cinch straps at the hem rather than aligned with the half belt, I don’t blame rc for that though because I know it’s likely historically accurate.

But yeah it’s also one of those rare patterns that’s versatile and looks good on most body types, plus it’s got all the other brand attributes.

How are shearling coats? Are they heavy too? I've never tried one on.

I have a Valstar shearling. It’s a dark olive Deck Jacket (looks like an N1). It’s heavy but doesn't feel like it weighs me down while wearing it but I tend to remove it for any drive longer than 30 min. Super warm and feels lovely. For reference, it's hovered around 15°F (0° with the wind) in Boston the past few days. Just an OCBD, the shearling and a hat and I was snug as a bug.

I never noticed that detail about the cinches. Good catch. I've been half-heartedly looking for one at TFL and one in my size popped up this week.

As much as I like the idea and love the craftsmanship and details, history has shown that I just won't wear it much. After going through close to a dozen or so vintage-inspired HH jackets from Aero, RMC, Eastman, etc. I still look at RC Speedster and Hercules as just about perfect even though I've never handled one. I'll choose to admire from afar.

If anyone wanted to give one a shot at a slight discount, there's a NWT RC Hercules at TFL in a 42.

So you can cinch the waist vs the torso

I've definitely had that ,where the idea of the jacket is greater than the use it gets. McFly has them in stock still as well

Your hair is un-earthly and magnificent...

It's like Old Testament Yahweh with a wardrobe makeover.
Ha! He does have an amazing hair, when I first visited Thedi’s website I thought, damn they use a really cool model! Turns out that’s Theodoros himself, the guy making those amazing jackets.

Oh man I absolutely love veg tan deerskin, I can’t stop touching it and has the best drape of all the leather types I’ve tried.

I like that ale too, one of the few cossacks with a smaller collar as most are too big imho, I even considered it for a bit but I almost never wear loose fitting or bomber type jackets and usually go for slim fitting or V shaped, I currently have a navy cowhide bomber and I think I’ve worn it maybe 5 times max in over 10 yrs.

I do want to get another deerskin shirt jacket in a different color and I would like to try the black deerskin sunset, it would be my first time trying an aviator and I’m still unsure about the collar, but those never seem to pop up, I see yellow often but never the black one.

2 months isn’t bad at all, did you get any leather samples before you picked which to use?

I still want a dark green leather jacket and think it might work for one of his multi panel designs if there’s enough color variation or pull-up.

If the eco horse wasn’t so damn stiff I would’ve gotten the shop’s olive western shacket already cuz that green color is beautiful imho with a lot of depth and tone variation, sadly I’ve read it takes forever to break in.
I didn’t fret over the leather, to be honest. I showed him d4nimal’s fit pic and told him “I want this jacket”.

I’m far less concerned about the leather than most over at FL or even here. I simply asked what leather it was and he said calf, but I know he also uses horse and goat.

I already warned some people in FL asking me about the jacket, I don’t think anyone should expect some super heavy leather from this brand, it just wouldn’t be congruous with the 70s style IMO.

He does seem to do some hand dyeing by looking at his Instagram.

FWIW I love the leather as it requires zero break in while still feeling substantial.
